INTEGIRLS Math Competition

WHAT: The INTEGIRLS Math Competition consists of individual, team, and relay rounds 

WHO: For any girl or non-binary student affected by (trans)misogyny in Grades 5-12! All levels of math experience are welcome! 

WHY: Our Math Competition isn't just about winning through equations and formulas; it's about building connections, engaging with peers, and celebrating the beauty of math. Our competition participants attend to join a wonderful community, and we're thrilled for YOU to take part in this experience with us.

All you have to do is sign up, and INTEGIRLS will place you in a team of up to 4 people. If you already have a team, let us know who they are in the form! 

This competition is designed for girls and non-binary students comfortable being grouped with girls interested in math/STEM. Please email us at vancouver@integirls.org for inquiries.

Who can participate?

This competition is open to all female-identifying and non-binary students comfortable with being grouped with girls in Grade 5 - 12. You do not need to live in Vancouver to compete because we will also be having a virtual competition. If you do not fall under these requirements, please consider helping out as a volunteer! All competition participants and volunteers will receive certified service hours from the INTEGIRLS nonprofit. 

How can I register for this competition? 

The competition recommends a team of 1 to 4 people. For the team round, we will place you in a team of up to 4 people in the same division as you! 

If you've already talked to a few people you want to work with, that's great too! In that case, please work with all your team members fill out the sign-up form.

What is the format of this competition?

The competition has two divisions: 

Middle School: Grade 5 - 8

High School: Grade 9 - 12

There will be three rounds: individual, team, and relay. All rounds will be a combination of number theory, combinatorics, geometry, and algebra.


What is the difficulty level of this competition?

Our amazing problem-writing team, which includes students from MIT and Caltech, is hard at work to ensure that there will be problems for problem-solvers of all levels! All levels of math experience are welcome and encouraged to participate. The middle school problems will range from introductory to AMC 10 level, while the high school problems will be more advanced. Team round problems will cover various difficulty levels.

Prizes from our $1000+ prize pool will be awarded to top competitors and teams in each division!

The top 3 individual competitors of each division will receive the following cash prizes

As we are currently arranging sponsorships with additional companies, the prize cash values may increase.

No! We will have problems for all levels of math experience; enthusiasm is all you will need!
